Anyone have pictures of outlaw 356's.

I'm trying to get some ideas. Mainly the license / reverse lights. I'm trying to be a little different. Thinking of installing the reverse light in the bumper, lower the license plate to just above the bumper and maybe license bolt lights or maybe do some kind of recessed license holder. I'm trying to update the look, kind of like what Boyd and Foose. Clean and simple.
As for the tail lights I'll try and mount them from the inside without the chrome trim.
Any help, opinions or comments appreciated.

I have some cool pics I will post, but I was looking at some products at a hot rod shop and they have a licence plate bracket that hides the license plate while the engine is off and it show it when the engine is on, very cool looking, I think is vacuum activated or maybe electrical
Here's a link to a ton of Outlaw pics. Be careful though, you'll need a high speed modem or you'll be there all day waiting for them to load.

As a side note, I hear the Parts Obsolete is kind of closing it's parts department and is only gonna continue on with the racing end of things. Gary is retiring evidently. Better get what you need now. They're selling the stock on hand, but not restocking anything . . . maybe old news, but i just found out.

Bad news for the future.

Terry,

Do those outlaw pics work for you? Only some of the thumbnails are clickable links for me, and NONE of the thumbnails that do appear allow access to the larger image by clicking on 'em.

Do I need to update my browser or my system? OR are you just jerking me around by posting links to tasty tempting picture links that don't work . . . ?

:)

Hey, TC. It's not your browser. PO's website hasn't been updated for quite some time. And it is true that Gary is getting out of the parts business. He had a few calls from people who want to buy the whole lot of parts: 8 semi-trailers and a huge warehouse full of stuff. He just wants to enjoy the racing end. The Campout is still on though.

Bruce's site is very good and includes a few of Gary's cars.
There is outlaw as in original old Porsches that were modified, usually for racing, and had some functionality. Then there is outlaw like in Harley Davidsons, that were modified to reflect a "look", usually sinister, that the owner just happens to like. The second defintion would likely include the current "fast and furious" crowd of body mods. Pick your own terms.

I have a recessed license plate, extra louvers on the rear deck, flush mounted rear tailights, flush mounted front turn signals, no horn grilles, front air dam, and some body graphics. I just like the look. Street rod or outlaw? Don't know, don't care.
A guy by the name of Dan Fink in Southern California makes a bracket that is mounted under the car and is vacumn activated and will raise and lower your plate when you start and stop the engine. There is also an electrical switch enabling you to raise and lower the plate at will. I have one on my car. My "Outlaw" car was on the cover of KITCAR, November 2004, or you can go to Google and type in DAVID BALSER PORSCHE and the article will appear. Gary's site was an inspiration to me and his site has a lot of neat cars.
David - I like your ride. Saw the mag article. Most of all I like your attitude to this sport.

Ben - wife got a digital camera for Christmas. I don't know hot to do anything with it yet, least of all to down load pixs to this site. I'm just an analog guy. That's why I got the speedster in the first place! Gimme a wrnech and . . .
