Sit on those when it's cold, and you might be stuck there.
In Mark Donohue's biography, "The Unfair Advantage", he describes sitting on raw aluminum seats like that while test driving some 800 horsepower, 200 MPH, CanAm racers in the 70s. I guess if you have enough adrenelin pumping, anything can be tolerated. Hurts just thinking about it.
