GREAT video!
man - that really gets my take-the-car-outta-storage-and-drive-it juices flowing
thanks for sharing Art.
I LOVE that roof line. He nailed that one.
I'd LOVE that top on my car in place of the high bow top.
T
I don't know why, but I really like that car...
He did a wonderful job of restoring a real rust bucket.
If you like the top, get in touch with Henry at Intermeccanica, which is what this guy did.
Paul, notice the swoopy profile of the top?
Sure doesn't look like a covered wagon!
You're the 'top bow guru'...what has to be done (modifications) to duplicate that look? As I recall you fabricated a scissors adaptation to yours (as this one has too!) How do I find those details in your threads and start dreaming?
Yeah my juices are flowing too! If only the temps would get above freezing and melt this piled up white stuff.
cool video-- makes me wonder what my 175hsp subie will be like--I know one thing it will have lower decibels! My VS was a little louder then I liked--my heads already humming with tinnitus
"You don't need a lot of horsepower to have fun"
----Jay Leno---
Right!
But having a lot of money to afford a lot of horsepower (if you wanted it) is certainly comforting.

If i heard that video correct, he bought the whole frame, top and windshield from IM, then modified (or had it modified. not sure who 'we' are)
It would be actually very easy to modify the 2nd bow to be lower. literally, just cut/bend it to suit your taste.
there is a back window on his (and mine), so if you lowered the 2nd bow, you would need a new top as the top you have would not work with the rear window placement (it would be pushed down to where it attaches to the car.
i see he used tennax fasteners too.
Loved that. The seller looked like he was terrified that Leno was going to wreck his car.
And outlaw? Anyone else notice he had no plates on that sucker?
Awesome.
The car's already sold! (Fantasy Junction.com). No plates, don't think that Leno is going to get a ticket driving it, with a film crew, cams rolling.
Edsnova, I thought he looked nervous also. If it was me, I'd figure I'd have pick of the litter!
A similar top on a pan based IM that I had with added hand fabricated mild flares. This speedster is now in in California somewhere.....It can be done by cutting down the rear bow and trim the bottom of the top some...

Aaaa... ZINGO, ALAN!
Man, you hit a homerun with that top.
Not now, but at Carlisle I'm going to pester you for detailed info not only on that top, but also the "...added hand fabricated mild flares"...(In fact I'm going to pester a lot of people at Carlisle about a lot of things!!!)
My VS has the 'high bow' configuration, whereas it looks as though this red speedster was initially a 'low bow' (if only the back bow was modified)
I also like the window treatment on Alan's top. The wider window makes up for the, shorter tighter top.
The top and interior was done by a Mike Haverstock in Chambersburg PA. He is now retired but what a street rod interior /top craftsman. Prices were way out out of sight too~

i loved that interior Alan!
i can't remember - did you do it, or farm it out?
