Outside rear view mirrors.. Painted?!?!

I've seen a few guys running painted "pod" looking mirrors. Looks to maybe be race inspired? Can anyone help to find out some more info on these! Also maybe where I get some?

These are Spyder type mirrors. Spyder makers sell them, as well as Fibersteel. I don't know if they fit the top of the fender well without modification. I have a Spyder, Speedster guys would know this better.

The mirrors you refer to are sometimes called "Sebring" style. Pegasus Auto Racing carries them, as well as a host of other, after-market vendors. If you mount two, you may want a convex lens on the right side.

I have GT mirrors from FiberSteel. I love them. Not going back.

Mine are in primer at the moment, to be painted soon enough. I also have one of those fancy teacup-looking guys, which will be put on a stalk in the middle of my dash soon. Also a fan favorite with Spyder owners.

You know.....One of those rear screen cameras would work in the Hoopty - Very high tech amidst the pared-down, racing sled idea, ya know?

I'm trying to get away from tech, young lad. Simple is good for me with the old Jalopy.

I actually do have a rear view camera on my Speedster, it's mounted to my license plate light. The 7" monitor folds up under dash when I'm not using it.
I installed it because I couldn't see a thing out of my rear view mirror when I had the luggage rack and case mounted.

Troy, that is something I would think of, but you did it first! Even though these cars are kind of anti-tech, I could see it being useful with the top and side curtains up as a safety thing.

I believe you can get some really small cameras today for cheap too, maybe hide it inside the license light? Uber cool would be to bluetooth it to the smartphone!

I drive my car in the pouring rain. Ain't happening.

The reality is that it is nearly impossible to see when the top is down, due to all the ambient light. When the top is up (almost never) it is better except at night when cars are behind me with their lights on.

The Spyder GT mirrors do fit the speedster fender crest nicely BTW.
