I thought some of the ol' timers (sounds almost like Ahlzheimers), and old school car guys might enjoy these pics from the International Packard Meet that convened here in SoCal last weekend!

Jim,

This is so unspeakably cool. Again, you are rubbing it in for all us east-coasters, who never get a chance to hop in the Speedy and run down the road on any given week end and see such mastery. I am truly impressed with the deatil shown here. Reminds me of the '49 Packard (which model I can't say) my dad had. This was a 4-dr sedan with a monstrous straight eight flat head in it. There was so much room in the back I could put my legs straight out and not touch the front seats. I loved that car, and regarded it covetously while in high school, imagining the day I would get my license and learn to drive it. Spent lots of hours polishing the insides. Then a terrible thing happened. My dad died late in my junior year (1961), and over my most desperate pleadings, my mom sold the car. I have never forgiven her, and that was about 45 years ago. She simply did not understand. And so it goes . . .
David - Wassupp? Glad you enjoyed the pics. BTW, are you getting another Speedster. Regardless, you should join our next SOC day cruise anyway just to give Vince some $hit!

FWIW - several years ago I was in the Speedy on Pacific Coast Highway cruising through Laguna Beach minding my own business when this ultra cool dude in a Silver Speedster w/headrest bump pulls alongside me and hollers "...Dude, you gotta check out Speedster Owners .com" - we give each other a nod then he zooms on ahead!

Turns out it was MRdavid. Until that point, I had no idea there was such a website. Soooooo, David's the one you all CAN BLAME for me being on THIS website spreading all my knuckleheadedness!!

Peace - Out!
