Hi everyone, I'm planning on ordering a new Vintage Soeedster but want to have the car painted black. I'm very particular about paint and have a friend that has a VS, so I'm thinking of having someone other than VS paint the car during it's assembly. Is there anyone near VS (I think they're around North Hollywood) that someone could recommend? I don't want to spend a ton, I just want it to be better than maybe what I could get out the door from VS. I appreciate everyone's help and thoughts in advance - I live on the East Coast so appreciate any guidance!

Black is not cheap due to additional surface prep and final color sand and buffing I use a small one man resto shop here in Chambersburg PA for years and 14 speedster paint jobs. Randy Fortne is the best of the best who is well known in the Corvette world here and puts his heart into what he does. He is super reasonable getting the job done quickly . PM me for his info Alan
I had the CERAMIC PRO 9H sealant done to my black car....as you well know, a clean black car, with deep paint is beautiful...but lasts for about 84 seconds as every fingerprint and drop of dirt shows. The CERAMIC sealant is great as you NEVER need to wax and a light wash/with mitt rolls everything right off. They seal your wheels, chrome, and glass(interior also if you'd like). The GLASURIT on IM cars is great paint and THAT is the other issue: black paint shows all imperfections if not done really well so you gain nothing by saving money! If you are COMMITTED to black, commit to a GREAT shop/tech that uses world class paint......just sayin
My 3 PUGS love to cruise in the SPEEDSTER...looking for "lady pugs"

@BlackBeauty, I don't know what it was about your friend's VS that caused your concern about VS paint (was it black?). Vintage Speedsters does additional prep for cars to be painted black. For what its worth, here are a few pics of my black 2015 VS. This VS gets compliments from everyone who sees it, even from some folks who are very particular about their cars. Hope these pics are helpful.

NICE WHEELS ya got there...
2015?! It's been that long!? Time flies.
Thanks for all your help everyone!!
Jim, your car turned out as an eye opener, or rubber necking with by passers. Can't wait to turn our SOC calendar to December at work and have my colleagues make comments- so cool.

I bow to your greatness, Jimbo. Somehow, I could never put that many miles on my speedster if I tried (but then, we get rain and snow up here once in a while... )
Wow! I've only logged 2500 miles in 2017. That's a story for another thread.
Miles-Schmiles...
Lucky dog Jim! Keep on driving!!!!
