Oh yeah!!! That's the one. It's a bit darker (which I like) but will look good with the orange (or even without it). If'n yah do the orange, have you thought about making it kind of a pearl finish against the not pearl blue?

It's been suggested that I pearl the whole car. I'm not sold on the idea, except for ghost flames. I don't really know what I'm going to do, but I haven't ruled anything out. I'll keep waffling until I walk away from the booth and the guy starts committing me to a fixed idea. That's what I have the scale models for, though. I'm experimenting with a few different ideas in my little 1:24 and 1:25 lab.
I think pearling the whole thing would be overkill. To me the shape of these cars really looks its best with a non-metallic color like that blue. I'm even having second thoughts about pearling the orange. I Do like the ghost flames idea, though.
I like that that blue its like Richard Petty Blue
69 Camaro hugger orange with a triple load of the large metal flake would make that pop. Extra metal flake gives you a candy apple orange color.

Right now, as things stand, I'm the ONLY one of us who isn't gonna have to lie when pics of that car are posted for everyone to cringe at.
Give the kid a break abd tell him the truth before he paints himself into a corner here.
Orange and blue? For a street car ! ? ! ? With a stripe around the BOTTOM . . . . and PEARL ADDED ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ? ! ?
Where did THAT come from?

If'n yah do decide to go monochrome, that blue is a spectacular choice. Still, I think you need to tie it in to the orange chassis somehow.

Barry, you're fired. It's not a Bradley GT. (lol)
Lane, okay -- but how, exactly do I do that and keep it from looking like a kiddie ride at K-Mart?
TC, how soon can you be on a plane?

Hmmm... That's a good one. You do have the roll bars sticking up where they're visible. That might be adequate. You could do some meatballs with orange numbers in them. That, along with the roll bars, would do it I think - especially if the numbers were outlined in black or dark blue.
