I actually thought about that. But I live in a TH, one car garage (speedster currently in, working on the interior) and no back yard. Plus, I've never painted with a can before want the DTM to actually look good!

I am pretty good at occasional rattle can refinishing but the ultimate test last year is deciding to paint my former Harley with black Dupli-color....surfaces were as new so prep was minimal that being soap and water and removing any oils then a light scuff sanding with 600 followed by Dupli-color primer sealer. For a beautiful gas resistant and high end finish, Eastwood makes a rattle can clear that you need to compress the bottom of the can to activate the two part process. It has a unique rattle can nozzle that produces a high end air gun spray pattern and it works!  This lays out so well it needs no color sanding or buffing unless you get a few dust bits in it as I did . My cost was about $75 and looked like a $1,000 job. I am going to do my current bike in a few weeks wit the exact the same process.

Is this just a stock OEM metal shroud or a Raby DTM fiberglass shroud?  Fiberglass can not be powder coated, of course due to high heat used.  I like the look of the Rustoleum Hammered look paint - especially if the parts have rust marks or dents.  You can do it in garage or driveway if you get a large cardboard box to contain over spray. Power coating holds up well on metal - plus lots of colors available - expect to pay about $100 for shroud and I'd do cylinder tine and breast plates to match.

A 45 minute drive for you but reasonable cost. I will say that his work is good but not the best you can buy and his price bears this out.

At least give him a call and see what he will do.

Thanks, I give him a call and try and get a quote.
