I am picking this weekend because it is between the holidays, not to close to Thanksgiving and not to close to Xmas.
It will be an over-nighter staying in either Palm Springs or Indio
at a Wyndam resort. I can get a 3 bedroom and a 2 bedroom. That means 5 couples/singles in bedrooms and extra Murphy beds in the living rooms.
I only want to hear from people who can make the committment and NOT flake out, because they have a frigging hang nail, or their kid has a damn soccer game...don't tell me you always wanted to go to Palm Springs, If I am going to be on the hook for rooms, make the decision and stick with it...
Jim and Will know routes that will take us through unchartered (at least for the SOC) territory with mostly canyons and forrest....

So who is game.....

OK, so I booked the 3 bedroom and the 2 bedroom for Saturday night, Actually had to book the 2 bedroom for Sunday night also, because that is part of the deal they offered.....the rooms will be well under a hundred dollars total per car, for the night with just the 5 couples....we can make dinner reservations as the time gets closer,
Remember we have Murphy beds in both condo's, so we have room for two more couples/singles, which naturally lowers the price even more. The hotel is located right on Palm Canyon in Palm Springs, I chose this one rather than Indio because if we are on the road most of Saturday, it will be good to not have to travel the extra distance to Indio, and we will also be just a stone throw from downtown where all the action is...
There is also a studio available that I can book, but I'll wait to see about additional response from you guys...

These are confirmed for the rooms at this time

This is for the night of the 12th of December
P.S. has many hotels, so don't decide not to come because you can't stay at the worldmark with us, I just happen to be a member and get good rates on rooms....

This will be a great run for those who are adventurous, Jimbo will plan the route which will be very scenic and at various altitudes..
Jimbo, am I right about this?

Roger That, Vince! We will travel on 2-lane twisties through the mountains with awesome canyon scenery (on the Pines to Palms Hwy) and then drop down from 6,800 ft. elevation into the Palm Springs area for a night of debauchery!!

This link will give a hint of the driving to be experienced on this cruise...

...and here's a link to a P-car event on this highway...

Turn on all of your lights (including your emergency flashers) and do a walk around, then go to the other beam of your headlights and do another walk around to make sure everything is lit when it;s supposed to be.

Bonus points for getting Terri into the car to step on the brakes for you to see if the brake lights are working.

That, plus what you've already listed, should do it! (especially the Oban!)
Picture defies explanation. Can't get a grip on Snafu and Scuttlebutt, the green-haired midgets...bearers, referees, wha...? I'd say if the guy(?) on the gurney was a Mr. Potato Head character, well then somebody installed his ass incorrectly. Fucked up a fine potato, too, IMHO.
(Repost this over to "anything goes" with the heading "Name/Describe This Picture"...see what happens.)
Damn !!
i'm going to have to miss this one as i'm heading to Sedona, of all places, that weekend...i try to make it there at least 3 times per year come rain, shine or snow...

i've done the 'pines to palms' twice this year and it's definitely an 'E ticket' ride, especially the part where you drop down into the desert in a hurry....

have fun !!
Frank
Marty's got a room....
I had to settle for another 2 bedroom for two nights, so the way this will shake out is as follows for rental....
one 3 bedroom for one night.....147.00
two two bedrooms for two nights (no choice) ....224.oo each room
cleaning 75.00....
total 670.00 divided by 7 (bedrooms) is 95.00 per car or bedroom....
if we use the Murphy Beds at a reduced rate, the price goes down from there....
Anyone wishing to stay the two nights, will be put in one of the two bedroom condo's so they don't have to move rooms...and rate can be adjusted to something reasonable

Marty - I sent you a PM last night to the address martyATcfgoa.com let me know if you got it or not by sending me a reply to musbjim@cox.net

I am planning on picking you & Sandy up at San Diego airport (unless you make some other travel arrangements). And then heading to Carlsbad (Will's town) for your lodging.

This will be awesome to have you join us for a day of extreme cruising and a night of debauchery.

P.S. Bring your poker money
Everything is a riot after an Oban or two......

BTW: Remember Brian Haythornwaite (sp?) He had an IM on here that Biggs bought in Atlanta. He also had the scissors lift that Alan Merklin now has in the Merklin Inter-Galactic Kit Car Shop. He had quite the home on Hilton Head Island, believe me!

Well, Brian and his wife stay on Hilton Head Island until it gets "cold". Like now, when it drops below 80 here in the Low Country. When that happens, they bug out to Palm springs for the Winter, where it's supposedly warmer.

Life must be good.
