Palomar Mountain loop...

Just giving a shout-out to gauge interest in doing this cruise (north San Diego County). We've done this route several times before and it is a great ride with a stop to picnic in a scenic overlook.

Tentative dates are either Saturday Feb 12th or Saturday Feb 26th, 2011 (or whenever). Chime in with interest or recommendations...

Jim, both weekends in February are bad for me....

I think that mid March would be a good time, but I am ready anytime!

Lukewarm response to this post so I guess I'll put this Palomar Observatory cruise on the back-burner for another time with the SOC group. With forecast of temps in the high 70's this weekend (and no other plans or grandkid duty on the calendar) I will probably do this drive this weekend anyway.

Will and Jim let me know the day you're going on Sat or sun ,I'll go along. Made the Palomar run Jan 23 great day, you could see all the way to Point Loma.

Hey Will, I will see you at the Mobil station, not sure if I will make it up to Palomar, if my car drives pass the casino it always seems to pull in all by itself.

SoCal SOC group to Palomar Observatory had a great time. Great weather, great drive...

Saturday morning rendezvous with Glenn Carr, Will P, Chris & Rebecca, Larry B & Musbjim...




Driving to the mountain summit (6,140ft) we stop at Palomar General Store on the way to the Observatory...

There was still some snow left from the recent cold snap and Will had trouble traversing the massive ice hazard pictured here...




On the way down the mountain we stopped for a picnic lunch on a vista overlooking Lake Henshaw, then heading home...

Great pics, but I am confused. It says here that Will (billyfeet) was there with you, but I do not see anybody in shorts and flip-flops, so must be a mistake.
