There are lots of posts about oil cooling and remote oil coolers, etc.
After reading quite a bit about the challenges of cooling built Type I motors I decided I wanted a few extra lubrication and oil cooling features on my 0 mile SCAT 1915.
It has a 1.5 quart deep sump, a spin on oil filter and the engine is full flowed, it also has a Type 3 oil cooler in the fan shroud. Tom McBurnie was good enought to modify the dog house to make it accomodate the larger cooler.
The system holds a little under seven quarts of lubricant. I am running synthetic now, but as the posts throughout the site indicate it tends to find it's way out of even the finest openings so I'm going to go to real oil soon, to complete the run in.
