If you have ever wanted to go to the Parts Obsolete Campout, make it this year because it is the last year they are going to have it...

The event is June 22 through the 24th. You can camp at Emory's place where the event is held or find a hotel in McMinnville. The Emory family has graciously hosted this event for nearly two decades. They let all of us wander through their barns/sheds/facilities etc. Rare and absolutely amazing cars show up to this event.

Probably more this year than ever before. They'll also have a photo op on Saturday at the McMinnville air museum - with Spruce Goose.

Replicas have always been welcome. Last chance.

Steve and I just talked about it (he's working out of town).

We've formulated a plan, and YES, we'll be there. I'll make sure the batteries are charged on both the cameras.

Things I've seen at this campout - Two bent-window cabs, assorted 356 carreras, as many as 5 Fuhrman 547 engines (between cars and engine on stands), couple of Polo engines, 906, 906 frame, the bodywork from a 959 that ran the Paris Dakar Rally, probably 8 or 10 buses with 6 cylinder 911 engines, plus more 356 and air-cooled 911 varients than I can even count. Usually 120 to 150 cars show up plus whatever the Emorys are working on.

Kind of diggin' on having a picture taken with the Spruce Goose.

Not sure why this will be the last. It's alot for the family to do as they not only run a very intersting shop, sell parts, they also campaign vintage/outlaw 356s and the kids both have performing careers that seem to be coming on-line.

I'm only guessing - but I think that this is one too many things on the plate.

By the way, GREAT hanging with you, too!
