Bruce,
I got just the outfit for the medford cruise! I found on ebay, in my size an unused 1950's era pair of Pyrotect coveralls with matching Pyrotect gloves (gauntlet style, leather palmed). COOL!! Just got to get the right vintage helmet to complete my ensemble.

Fah-get-about the beehive hairdoo/poodle skirt thing that all the other girls do, I'm gonna dress like speed racer!

Angela,

Go Girl! Think I'll be working on my sunburn, you are going to get mighty warm in those coveralls and racer helmet. I wimped out of the Provolt show today, threat of sprinkles and the 74 911S folks e mailed me and said it would be on damp grass, they wimped also.

What day are you going up to Parts Obsolete? Up and back in one day?

Bruce
Hi Bruce,
I was going to head up on Friday. I know a really neat group of back roads to take for the last hour or two of the drive. Smooth pavement, curves, hills, beautiful scenery... If I get lost, you won't mind trust me! Stay overnight Friday and probably head home Saturday but not certain at this point. May head home Sunday instead. It will just be Steve and I, kind of a mom and dad weekend out, so we'll keep the schedule pretty flexible. Definately going to hotel-it. angela
Angela,

Sounds good. I'm going up on Friday morning also, taking the back road from Trail to Canyonville and then up I-5 to Corvallis and then 99W up to McM. Your route sounds interesting too. I think some of the Cal guys are coming up on Thursday and staying over night in Medford and then heading out on Friday morning. Do I hear it for a Thursday evening BBQ or get together? Hmmm. I'll have to talk to the boss about hosting a BBQ. I think all the Speedies and Spyders in my driveway would make a statement, much as Dales Q did.

Medford cruise is June 17, 18, 19. June 17 is registration/breakfast packet pickup and a poker run from 9am to 1:30. 60's rock n roll from 7pm to 9 pm in the park. Stop light drags at the track.

Saturday 18th, is Show n shine in Hawthorne Park, all grass and we can bring an EZ up tent for shade. Usually VERY warm. That is 8am to 4pm. You cannot leave early. Saturday night is the cruise from 6pm to 9:30pm. Restricted to registered cars. NO BURNOUTS. Sock Hop from 9:30pm til 11;30pm.

Sunday is a breakfast 8am to 11am - no car stuff. If you need an entry, I can email it to you as a PDF or mail you one if you need it. Registration closes pretty soon, so let me know. angela
Bruce,

Last year there was a winery tour to a very scenic winery in the hills east of McMinneville. It was mapped out on supurb speedster roads, hilly and scenic. I assume they will do something similar this year. If I remember it left at 10AM from Parts Obsolete and we just missed them but had a copy of the route so followed the instructions and ended up with the rest of the group. We got back in the early afternoon in time to ogle the cars and take in the BBQ. Swap meet on Sunday morning, sometimes something to buy, all Porsche and VW.
Steve: Regarding vintage helmets, go to the Davida website if you are interested in 50s-60s style British motorcycle helmets (you probably knew about these anyway). Very cool, but not approved by Snell or Dot. But, who cares. For slow speeds and cruising, nothing draws more looks than a leather-lined Davida...maybe with a Maple leaf on the front, and so, so apropos in a Spyder...IMHO, of course.
