Just got off their website...

We would like to announce that after faithfully serving the 356 and 911 community for nearly 45 years Gary Emory is retiring from the parts business. For the next 6 months Gary will be liquidating his inventory, and he is not going to replenish his stash. Parts Obsolete will be remembered in the history books and never forgotten. All of you that have been here know what kind of treasures are in that barn, as well as the largest stash of 356, 911,and 914 parts around. Everything is going to go.

Yes and no.

They are selling the Parts business as mentioned earlier here. I believe they will still maintain owners cars and be active in vintage raging, The Parts Obsolete camp out will go on as normal is the word. This was a nice bit of news as all that have been to that event each year look forward to the great time and great sights. I'll be there in June again. Info on their Web site.

One of the things that the Parts Obsolete folks had (spotted @ their campout 2 years ago)was the largest selection of fiberglass molds for porsche race cars that I have ever seen.

The collection encompassed a big open shed. We're talking bumper, hood, roof every part you can imagine for stuff from an RSR to 935 and things I didn't even recognize. It would be pretty neat to see that stuff go to a race shop.

Of course my husband wants the whole collection... He loves fiberglass.

Boy, you old farts are really quick to jump on another OF. Hey, it was a slip of the finger, or was it a Freudian slip, HMMM. In any case the PO Campout is a really wonderful event for us guys and gals. Scott Sloan won the Open Catagory last year with his IM. Us replicar guys are pretty well accepted up there and I really got a lot of questions about my JPS from the "real" 356 guys. I think they would like to have one so they can run around without fear of dinging up their garage queen.

Knotts is almost here and I've been out making lists and checking them twice!
