Pasadena Area Storage for Speedy

Looking for a climate controlled storage location for my upcoming Speedy in the Pasadena CA area. (Relocating next month)

Anyone have any recommendations? I'm also looking to get involved with some area Speedster owners. All replies welcome!! Best, Dennis

When you get to Calif. find a house with a garage and buy a car cover. Unless your car is a $500,000 1966 Shelby GT-350 convertible (only 6 made) then you won't need a climate controlled storage area.

Not too many storage area's with climate control but when you do find such a location, plan on spending upwards to $250.00 per month.

My problem is I've already GOT two cars and there's no way I'm finding a 3 car garage on a house I plan to buy. I'm already suffering from extreme sticker shock!

If your property is big enough, why not get a small Dutch Shed with a Garage door delivered and sit it next to the house? Speedies don't take up that much space.
Or... if your garage is deep enough, get four auto casters, sit the Speedy on them and spin the car against the front wall and park the car in front of it.

Dennis, good luck on finding that climate control thingie here.. Like Vince said.. All of LA valley area is controlled... Let us know when you get settled.. We'll have some type of get together so you can join the maddness out here in LA La land! As far as your garage goes.. most ins companys require the tubs covered and locked. that being said I'd take you daily driver and rest it in your street and put the tub in the garage.. Works for me.. but that is just my fix here... Like you said a 3 car garage in LA is like a 4 bedroom home in ... well lets just say it could run you some money here... LOL..

I have a 3 car garage and what occupies it, is a 71 El Camino, my speedie and a GS430 Lexus. My wife's car is outside with 4 other cars in our family. My suggestion is also like David, put it in the garage and your daily driver, in the driveway.

If you have enough ceiling height inyour garage, consider a lift to park your Speedy on, and park your other car underneath. Search this site for more discussion. Fairly inexpensive if you can do it!

I have one of those Dutch sheds Bill mentioned, a 14 x 36 shop with 220v, compressor, heat, A/C and a scissor lift. I use this as my speedster build shop with plenty of room to spare, it's not considered a permanent structure so taxes are $125.00. The only negative is that it has become the neighborhood club house, if the lights are on they wander in.

I can totally picture your build-shop with flickering lights, a huge Tesla Coil throwing off major voltage, several Speedy corspes laying around and that diabolical Merklin laugh BWWAAAAAHAAAAAAHAAAAAA as you prepare another Speedster to be 'Merklinized'!!!

Dennis, You need to move a little way east and get some land, I'm on a 1/3 of an acre with a 2,500 sq ft home, a 18' x 56' motorhome garage, a detached 20' x 24' garage and an attached 2 car garage and a 16' x 16' storage shed. And a whole bunch of grass, enough to have a Tennis court, if I played tennis but I don't...

I'd rent you some room but but everything is filled. Lincoln LX and Envoy Denali in the attached garage, F250 and work shop in the 20x24 and a 40' motorhome and my 1973 911 in the motorhome garage

Moving east = significant freeway time and I'm not prepared to grow old-er doing stop and go's on the freeway. Looking for an "in-town" solution and have resolved that it's going to be my wife's car on the driveway and the Speedy covered and in the garage.
