I know, I know, its early to talk about this stuff, but I'm already itching for some more road trip time! Any ideas on dates for Paso? Knotts is traditionally 3rd weekend in April. If possible, I suggest that they be on non-competing weekends so that vendors etc., are able to attend both events.

The Adelaide Inn was terrific!

So has a date been chosen for Paso?

Angela, The reason that weekend was selected for Paso was to join the "Other" function that was going on in the park, It may not be negotiable.....I believe Mary (Kirk's wife) was in contact with the Adailade hotel for taking over the pool area for a dinner/pool party.
So the date may already be set anyway...
besides, do we really need or want all the vendors etc...It was nice not having all the BS........just a nice speedster group.....
Just my opinion..........
I would hate to miss the other event that was occuring during the Paso meet, by itself, that was quite fun!

I do understand that we will probably again piggy-back on the events scheduled for Paso Robles (town of). But if none of it is set in stone, then I suggest we put down for an alternate weekend.

As far as vendors go, I doubt most of the kit makers would bother. But it sure would be nice if a few suppliers, say engine builders or something would show up. Quite a lot of those are in central California so its not a reach. Our show with the VW guys may help draw some interest from that type of vendor. I spent about $200 bucks at the Porsche vendor that showed up at Paso last year. Would love to see them again (kaching!)

If we do conflict with Knotts, my choice is easy. Paso! Great town, lovely roads, sweet mountain biking and an overall welcome feeling. I still need to swing a leg over that mechanical bull!

I'll probably never go to Knotts, but I'll never miss Paso! That is, of course if the nice "speedster group" includes the spyders. My wife and I had a great time, and the motel was a perfect home-base.
I do think a short fun rally or poker-run could be scheduled at the end of the show, winding up at some place to party together (the pool area at the motel would be really good from the drinking and driving standpoint -- or even just the party room at a pizza parlor).
The Paso Show is going to be Saturday, April 21, 2007 to coincide with the "Recycled Treasures" antique sale in the downtown park. Mike Crouch has been working on some cruises for the weekend along with a BBQ at the Adelaide Inn on Saturday evening. Looks like the Vintage VWs will be back again along with some other German Aircooled cars. Vendors will be OK but they will have a $35 fee. Check with Mike for details, email: mikekc at charter.net We'll start a new thread after the Holidays with more details.
