I did little "Show" today with my buddy Dave (he restores vintage cars). The event was an art show raising funds for woment. He brought the 58 Speedster and the 59 Coupe, I brought my car as well. Lots of questions and interest. It was sunny and 80 so I was a little bummed I was standing talking about my car instead of driving it, but what the hell, it was for a good cause.

I would think that the cars were a great addition to the art show. I suspect many of the "other halves" who may have been dragged to the show were glad to see something more to their interest. Not that there is anything wrong with art shows per se, but often times what is on display looks like what you have already seen at so many other shows that the work all begins to blur and run together.

Seeing real life flesh and blood auto art must have been like a breath of fresh air? It sure would have been for me. And it was for a good case too???
Eat your hearts out, SoCal Tech Nite guys. Here in the NY/RI/MA/PA/MD/DC/VA/DE/NJ/TN/NC/SC/GA/FL/OH/MI/IN/IL/IA/MO/OK/TX/AL/MS/LA/MN/WI (et al) region, we help each other do COOL stuff, like put in carpet kits and use up spare rivets. We don't go in for that Sally SoCal tanning-lotion, zinc-oxide, Hawaiian-shirt nonsense.
Heck no.
This photo was taken by one of thousands of curious onlookers this weekend, as the lone "Amish Country Speedster" went under the box-cutter for final grooming.

Keep your wax. Keep your Flitz. Keep your windshield tints.
We have Mickey, the Amazing Carpet Guy from Wilmington.

And "Slow-Moving Vehicle" triangles.

Put THAT in your Turtle Wax, huh? Look -- they're even on GRAVEL. We ain't scared. Grass. PAH!
