Well it looks like my Spyder is up for sale again. Little did I know she would be passed around like a $2.00 hooker. I hope someone would take her in and get her the TLC she deserves.

I think this is a different dealer. The last one was asking $21,500 which was way too much. I sold it for $14K but probably gotten more if I wasn't so eager to make a down payment on a SAW Cabriolet. BTW the engine is a 1680cc not what the ad says, I recognize the gold painted engine. Still it'a was a hot one off the line and has a new highway cruiser transmission.

TC: It's a Perry Design kit that took me a little over year to build. It is about 11 inches longer since it fits on an uncut VW pan. There is enough room behind the seats to carry a complete set of golf clubs plus a little room left over. I added a slight hump under the rear grill to accommodate a 911 shroud and fan. The engine runs at a constant 180 degrees during 45 minute runs at speeds of 70mph plus. With some major mods I suppose the engine could be flipped and have it set up like most replicas but the storage area would be gone. She was a ball to drive and you couldn't help but push the limits (got one speeding ticket doing 65 in a 40 zone).

Thanks Lane for the compliment, Perry Designs doesn't have a lot of fans but I wanted a kit that didn't need a lot of cutting and welding and that I could do most of the work myself. Jeff Perry even liked it enough to use a photo of it in his ads in the Kit Car magazines during the early 2000's. And Thomas, you're right about court apperances but somehow the State of Florida allows speeders to attend Traffic School (biggest farce going) to avoid points and court appearances. My TS was given at a local Comedy Club and one attendee was ticketed on the turn pike for doing 120mph in a Ferrari.BTW to keep my speed down now I'm having SAW install an ultra-quiet muffler on my Cabriolet hoping I won't be tempted to roar down the boulevard or draw attention if I do.
