I had a real problem with my passenger side mirror, even with the convex mirror, of being able to really see out of it without craning my neck. The issue is the mirror head will not turn in far enough. Both my mirrors are mounted just before the door openings, I think that is fairly typical with a lot of Speedsters--IMO I think mounted on the door would be a better option.

Anyway, on to my 'Fix' for the mirror. If you remove the mirror head from the post and take it completely off you will notice the raised area that traps the swivel head w/long square mounting nut. By using a Dremel tool with a small fine grinding wheel you can remove a little bit of the metal on the narrow portion of the mirror head and mostly by doing a little then swiveling the ball toward the narrow part of the mirror, sort of a 'trial and error' method of fitting and checking. WARNING! do not remove to much metal or the swivel ball may work it self out.

It only takes a little bit(less than 1/16) of removing some metal in order to get the mirror head to swing in some more, doesn't take much. Now I can quickly glance to my right to see out of that mirror as it should be without craning my neck. The only downside of the mirrors mounted where they are is the  passenger side windshield post is really seen in the mirror but it is livable and far better than before.

So if you have this issue I hope this works for you...Good Luck!

Thanks, G.R.---this was an easy and effective fix!

I just installed a new pair of mirrors from Sierra Madre---good ones with heavy chrome plating. The old ones were scratched up by using some cleaner that caused some unattractive abrasion  on the back of the mirrors.  The passenger side one needed this fix ---which was odd because the last one from Sierra Madre did swing in enough to work but the new one wouldn't adjust enough.

Another nice, easy fix from smart folks on the SOC site.  Thanks again, G.R.

ps--"Prism" is a sensational chrome cleaner and it won't scratch up chrome.
