Hi Folks: Just an up-date on the Credit Card Scam that happened to me while on Vacation: Visa has Kindly Credited My Acct. with $5K out of the $12K ripped-off: It takes approx. 30-45 days for the Investigation to clear & Then we`ll see what happens: Will keep you Interested people up-dated: Russ: PS: For those who just read this; This happened on My PayPal Acct. which I immediately Killed!!!!!!!
This isn't anything to do with PayPal.

I bought a car and lot's of other stuff on PayPal and never had an issue. You got ripped off because you responded to an email asking for your personal info. There is no other way! It's called phishing, I get it for PayPal, Ebay and AOL.

NEVER RESPOND TO THEM. Always report them to spoof@paypal.com, spoof@ebay.com and TOSReports if you are on AOL

As they always say you will never be asked for any password information.
Did you reply to one of those bogus account verification emails that seem to target PayPal and eBay? I love PayPal --- saves trips to bank/mail for a costly money order and speeds up online personal transactions. Never had a problem in 6 years or so. They actually credited my account for non-delivery of ebay item (and it was only $14 and I didn't take their "insurance". Wish I had come up with the concept!
The latest scam, is people selling stuff on ebay and then they take your mailing address and cross reference it to get the telephone number for that address. Then they call you at home and tell you they are paypal or the credit card company and they need to verify your information. They will try to get you to tell them your information or verify the card is in your possession.

Never give your information or verify anything on the phone either, simply ask what account they are calling about then hang up and call the people yourself and see if they are trying to call you. If they aren't then cancel or close that account. And look the number up yourself don't ask them for the phone number to call them back, they are better and smarter at this so don't be lazy. Anyone can answer the phone after giving you a "direct" toll free number and act like you reached them directly.
HI there folks: Well; I did give my Personal info. via an Email request from (So-Called PayPal): Bad Mistake on my part: Live and learn (Costly Mistake): I`m still hoping for the Best; meaning getting my add`l. $7K back so I can continue hunting for my Speedster: John, My Wife does`nt want or need the car (She does`nt drive)!! This is a Toy for myself: You must be thinking about the other fellow who is looking to buy a Speedster for his Wife`s 40th Birthday: I believe he did buy one?? Keep the Faith, Russ
