Yesterday, I met a bunch of PCA guys at 10 a.m. and went on a windy cruise through Dutchess County NY. Nice assortment of cars, from '09 Cab, Boxsters, a NEW C4 Targa, a 968, and me. 20 cars in all. We went to a small race restoration shop(John Corson's), looked at a couple Ferraris. A LeMans 512(yes, the one from the movie) and a 250 Gt coupe. This shop repairs ANYTHING. Both cars were wrecked, the 512 is all fixed, 250 is in process. They made an entire new rear clip, molding fiberglass is his specialty. Milling machines, lathes, welders, etc. Very clean shop, and a nice bit of history to see.

Then we went to lunch, sometimes a bit spirited driving, and all went our separate ways. It was pretty hot but I didn't mind, it was a good day. There was a real 1960 356 roadster there, purchased used in 1965 and still owned and driven often! What a beauty!

Then my friend Mike and I cruised around by ourselves for a while and grabbed a beer.

When I got home, I was pretty tired, a long day in 90 plus heat will do that to you. But a great car day, almost 200 miles on the car!

Danny,

Hope you had the sunscreen on. Heat?? What heat?? I pulled into the gas station the other day w/ heat index at around 100, and bumped into a friend from work there. He'd not seen my car previouslsy. So some oogling was conducted. He asked a bunch of questions, including, does it have air conditioning? I replied that yes indeed it did, and it was working right then and there. Parked. By the gas pump. With the top down. Works better at 3 grand in fouth gear, but who's being picky?

Sounds like you had a great day, and seeing the past live on in such good measure through dedicated shops like the one you visited, is very comforting. Also tooling around w/ your buds and a few suds is very nice too.
