That's off-the-shelf 2110 power right there! For the price of only 36 2110s.
They are very cool engines, but their complexity is off the charts. Doing a simple tune up is a nightmare for the uninitiated. And not very street friendly either- with the 1500's and 1600's, bottom end/lower midrange is pretty well non-existent. IIrc, they don't come 'on the cam' (and making power) until 4500 or 5000 rpm. People used to claim that they were a bear to drive in traffic. The later 2 liters are a little more driver friendly, but not a whole lot.
As I’ve previously posted, a good friend’s dad had a couple sitting under a bench in his shop BITD. Both pulled out of 356 Carreras in search of drivability. Phil (dad) said it took 8 hours to check/adjust the valves. PITA back in the days when shop time was $25-$30\hr. I can only imagine now that it’s 5+ times that.
That first scene in Ford v Ferrari says a lot about how Americans drive and what we expect a car to feel like under our right foot. I like to imagine a parallel universe in which the Offenhauser four stood in for the Ford flathead v8.
I’m a little lost. The opening scene in F vs. F is Carroll Shelby catching himself on fire at LeMans.

I’d guess it was. That was a great scene.
“What utter nonsense”, indeed.
Kevin's got it. I did not re-watch the movie before posting.
Drive it like you stole it. And not in traffic, if it's a four-cammer...
Yeah, that scene really set the mood. Christian Bale really channeled some Ken there.
My only quibble: the adjustable wrench. Ken would have had proper Whitworth spanners.
