Not at all, just an observation on the dyno. Some other people have had dyno readings that confirm a Dynomax and a "stinger" (megaphone extension, not a muffler) give the same BHP. One Vw drag racer said switching from Magnaflow to a Dynomax improved his 1/4 mile elapsed times by 1/10 of a second.
George: How loud is the Dynomax? I have a 2.5
Bruce, my old car has a 2 1/2" Magnaflow that's not too bad unless you put your foot to the floor, but it can be a bit irritating at higher revs. We were running the new engine on a Stuska dyno with a piece of 90 degree bend 2 1/2" pipe about 18" long and the Dynomax was quieter than a Magnaflow. The Dynomax is smaller, too (not as long).
I have the same problem with my Magnaflow. Not too bad a lower revs, but when I put my foot down the Magnaflow really gets noisy. Bruce, I may put a resonator on mine to try and quiet it down.
