period correct pedals

I'm looking to update with period correct pedals. Does anyone have any advise? I don't want the bs aluminum pedals that they sell with the after market VW's and I am over the standard black rubber pedals that come with the car

You will need to re work the petal mounts by welding on 1/8 steel and retrimming your petals to match the Porsche pads But Klasse 356 or Stoddards import parts has your rubber pads.

Jeremy, an alternative might be just as easy as heving your pedals stripped and reapinted to match the car. You're not out to fool anyone, right? 'Cuz the height of the tunnel in the average replica is a dead giveaway ...
So maybe take the ones you have out, have them sandblasted and refinished, reinstall them. You could maybe find a carpenter to make some birch floorboards that allow for complete travel, and you'll be set!

In my case I just slipped Porsche rubber pedal pads (same for 356, 911 & 914's) over the VW pedals and they work perfectly. I know that Jjr tried to do the same thing in his Speedster and it didn't work for him but try it; they're not expensive.

I have no complaints about my bare-foot gas pedal. I think that it was a factory add-on...

If not, it shoulda been.
