To all you guys that answered my son ,on my problem on "perky carbs", looks like the problem is solved, as reported by my son earlier! Simply moving fuel lines away from a possible heat source has removed the blubbing I heard before, and now, no more raw fuel is being dumped down intake manifolds for a hard start. Problem was driving me nuts ,as when I removed the air cleaner I could actually see fuel being dumped into the carb. throat!!! Simple solution to a very bothersome problem!!! Thank you ! Stu # 1

Our pleasure, Stu. It drove me nuts as well. My car was a bear to restart in hot weather after a drive.
Glad it was a simple fix. Now, back to the joy of top-down cruising in your Speedster!
Yeah, I love it when we help fix something (without blowing it up!)
I'm often reminded of the slogan beneath my picture in my high school yearbook:
"I'll fix it, or break it trying!"
To Gordon from Mass. As you know by now your call was right on the money!!!,and as a re-rooted family from Clinton Mass. I know how this time of the year can be very depressing not being able to zip around town with the top down ( well maybe with earmuffs) and hoping for warmer spring weather ! But keep the faith as warmer spring weather ALWAYS returns to New England!!! Stu #1
Ahhhhh, Clinton! Home of the Russian Doll Museum, and a bunch of mills, turned into lofts! We're back in Grafton after self-imposed exile in South Carolina. I refuse to seccumb to sitting around all winter w/o driving my Speedster, so I 'm still out there doing all the back roads I can find. Just for the hell of it, I'll pass through Clinton tomorrow and stop at Tower Hill for lunch. Streets are dry, what little snow we got is going and all that's left is the cold but that's why I have a working top and really decent side windows!
Stu: Where did you escape to? You're missing some great skiing at Mt. Wachusett, PLUS those terrific Wachusett micro-brews!!
Hey Gordon , take it easy on Clinton, it has a lot of history!!! Oldest central park in America(even beats out New York Central park, oldest baseball diamond in America(Fuller Field) worlds largest man made Dam, that supplies Boston with water .Carpet mills that supplied the best carpets of their time ( Bigalow carpets) ,some of which went down with the Titanic ,and some that are in the White house till this day!!!! As for a place to eat ,sometime try the" Old Timer" in Clinton , right off the main drag( High Street) in Clinton ,on Chestnut St. I believe!!! As for me went to Worcester Boys Trade High in the late 50's,Joined the Navy and was in the U.S.N.Seabees (Construction Batt.) for four years . Our home port was and still is ,Port Hueneme Ca.)and I now live right next door to it in Oxnard Ca. Cold weather back east didn't fit me to well when we came home from overseas in Dec. and most people out here were wearing tee shirts, and I was going home on leave to below zero temp. Love New England, no place on earth like it ,but for me So. Calif.is also a great place to be retired in!!!! Be Cool Stu#1 ps. Think I'll go for a spin in the Speedster!!!!
Hey Stu! Next time we head out to the Rudder Room (at the Channel islands marina) we'll give you a holler so you can join us for a beer & some grub!
Stu! You can't make me feel bad about driving in SoCal about now. I took the loop of rt 140 to 12 to 110 over to Clinton, then back down 70 to stop at Tower Hill in Boylston for lunch (we've been members there since the 1970's). Later, went the back road to Northborough and then home through Westborough, just as it was starting to cloud up and turn colder. Gonna drive all winter if I can! I'll check out the eatery on Chestnut, and have been to Fuller Field a lot. Much like the Cape Cod league, that's real baseball.....
Two uncles were SeaBees, both cool, both slightly nuts. I can build almost anything, but they could build anything!
Hey Gordon ,my wife says the street the Old Timer is on is 155 Church Street ,but no matter all you have to do is hit Clinton anywhere and ask anyone and they will point the way. By the way on Wed. night" supper" for one price you get all the prime rib you can eat ,hand cut by the owner Jimmy McNallay ,front and center in the dining room. I think its the same on Sunday's too. The place has been there for many many years, and has been home to all kinds of celeb's. If you like prime rib ,you'll love it!!! Fun to hear you had two uncles in the Bee's,don't hear much about them on the East coast. Spent another 30years in the Carpenters Union out here before I retired!!! AND believe it or not my wife saved for 4 years and told me go ahead and get yourself a toy for retirement ,and thus the speedster sits in my garage paid for by my wife!!! Whatta Gal!!! Cheers!!!
