I am about to start mounting the top and tonneau on my Fiberfab speedster. I bought the car used and it doesn't have an assembly manual. However, I have viewed the CMC manual online here, which recommends installing the convertible top with snaps. Yet, I have heard that some convertible tops are "permanently" mounted to the car. I like this option since I don't plan to take the top off, but to use the removable tonneau most days.

My question is how to permanently mount the top to the car and what draw-backs are there to this approach rather than using snaps. Thanks in advance.

I've read this several times and am unsure of the Question. As it reads, I have to agree with Mike and Alan.

Paul, the part that confuses me is where you mention the top mounted and also using the tonneau. Are you asking how to mount the top bows (the top framework and hinges)?
