OK, so . . .

Carey put me in touch with one of his customers, a REAL nice guy, who's selling his Perry Spyder after the lights and certain trim pieces are removed for his NEW car.

He was asking $6,000, but was very willing to entertain lesser offers. He REALLY wants to sell the car, which is totally understandable considering his getting a new Speedster. No reflection on the car at all since it seems to be built right with some sweet heavy duty racing parts. He just wants it gone.

Anyway, here's his contact info:

cr@elderplanning.net (replace the "AT" with the circled "a", of course and remove the spaces between)

His name is Charles W. Rowland Jr,

NOW, I'm thinking that this is THE PERFECT ride for Cory to grab up ! ! He can get it at a really great price if he does some horse tradin'. The chassis 69 IRS, with a pro-street transaxle, brand new Toyo tires, brand new shocks, and the body comes with real Porsche gauges.

Considering that the body is a long body, it would be perfect for his Porsche 911 engine, make the body and chassis as long as needed and section the rest away. Or sell the chassis, keep the trans and body as the replacement pieces for when you up-grade your current ride to accept the 911 engine. Lose the Speedster body and swap it out for the Spyder.

If you're serious about getting into a Spyder, AND plan on running it with the larger/longer engine. This is exactly the car that you'll need as a starting point and here it is for a great AND still negotiable price, and it comes with the trans, genuine gauges and pieces that you would also need and want for the end game.

Maybe ?

Just sayin' . . .

Lane,
I'm pretty sure that is a New Mexico tag on the back of the "950 Spyder", so Carlisle may be a bit of a haul?

TC,
Where is Charles located? This could be the car for me for hill climbs. However, as I mentioned in another post, I have a pretty full plate right now and the last thing I need is another project, dammit, 6 months to a year too soon!
Charles is in Florence, KY. He has pics of the car that he can forward on to you, and a list of what has been done to it.

I have his address and office phone if you want more info, or you could shoot him an email.

He may even be able to meet you part way with delivery, you never know. LOTS of car guys have trailers these days; it's pretty much become a necessity.
I'm scared of that entire prospect. I'm going to pass, but thanks for the thought.
Spyders ought to be smaller than Speedsters, IMHO. And since I don't owe anybody anything on the Speedy ... Maybe the next one doesn't have to be a cobble-built car.
Also, the 911E is sold. It went to a guy near Summit Point with a whole lot of tech manuals and at least three trannies, so my 911 transplant is also on haiatus. Maybe, just maybe, I'll luck out twice in one lifetime for the karma generated by not hanging onto it. We'll see.
Lane, it's not so much a coupe ... but it IS a coupe. Maybe not entirely a coupe, but maybe you could say it's a legitimate coupe reduced to ... prime numbers. The peace of mind that comes with knowing you HAVE a coupe, even if you don't need to garage it. Hmmm. Metaphysical coupe manifested in some random digits, say, or maybe a series of very importantly correct coupe-ordered digits, on a significant and particular chunk of a once-upon-a-Stuttgart-coupe ... And I don't need a garage, so much as I need a seance ... .

But the damned Easter Bunny came and laid an egg in my lap. The Playboy Easter Bunny, if you take my meaning. And the 'egg' is kind of flat, and smallish. And metallic.
126596 is the number. Comes back on the 356a site's database as a Reutter "C" coupe, '64 model year, built in '63. Feel free to have a look in a proper book -- that's almost all I have to go by. Last registration was in Minnesota of Wisconsin, according to the guy I got the 'car' from. It's a wreck, really. Lots of pieces available ...
