personalized plates

why reinvent the wheel? My plates are coming up for renewal and so the time is right for a personalized set for my IM 356 roadster.
Opening it up to suggestions.

thats what I'm using to hopefully get less "what year is that" questions? It probably won't do me any good, but I can't complain I knew what I was going to deal with from owning the first one.

I hear ya Steve! That's exactly the No.1 question we get around here...I know driving our cars is great fun but answering the same freakin' question gets old.

We need for someone to come up with a slick vintage-looking plate holder that specifies the model year, on the tradition of the old "1963 Volkswagen" and "1965 Mustang" plates that you can no longer get because of copyright issues. That would help stop a lot of the "what year is it? questions.

Take a look at the frame on my plate. Before you ask where I got it, it came with the car as did the plate.

Yeah, you'd think an obvious plate like mine would make Question #1 unnecessary, but still, the first one is always, "Hey, what year is that?"

I chalk it up to sensory overload...too much to take in to notice the plate. Besides, it just means they're interested, which is always nice.

My plate is "58 Tub", and the first question is always, "What year is it?....". I'm OK with that.

This is actually the plate that is going on my vintage

Notice my plate. It says "57 TUB". It really is funny! People will walk a the way around the car and then say .....Hey, what year is it!! Mike

...told a guy yesterday it was built in 1999.
He paused then said he saw three guys at the S.F. airport yesterday with 'Red Stripe' racing jackets.

I told him they were replicas of my old pit crew.

Bill, Dale...Michael? You guys spoofing people at the airport? One was described as heavy-set with a grey beard. Coulda been Michael?

Goofy, Don't know what state you live in but 13 letters will make for a very long plate....

No, no, Vince, Dumbezillee (Don't be silly) was only a remark, not the name of the plate. It sure would be nice to have California (my resident state) up their 7-character limit to eight, such as seen on some of the previous plates. It would open up a whole new bunch of mental license plate gymnastics. Ain't it fun?
