I just ordered an igintion module from Pertronix ( sp?) . I was wondering if it was a prety straight forward install, or if there was anything tricky I should look out for. Thanks. Bay the way I have a Bosch 009 DIst.

Chris, it's a piece of cake. The instructions are very clear and I doubt you will have any trouble. Make sure you secure the wires inside the distributor. I know of at least one case that the wires were rubbed bare and shorted out the unit when they wound up too close the the rotor shaft. Use some nylon ties to secure them (the red and black wires). I put ties on the inside and outside just to be extra sure this didn't happen.

One thing about electronic ignitions, check and re-check connections before powerup, they get fried instantly on reverse polarity.

What about the tach? Isn't there a need for a resister (?) or something to keep the tach honest?
I've heard about adding an electronic component (can't recall which type) but I know that some are running their tachs without it fine.
I had problems on my Mustang when I switched to an MSD ignition and had to add a tach adapter to run the tach. I'm guessing that this could be the same for the speedster.
compufire ignition + china-crap tach here, no troubles so far... knock on wood!
