PGO is a hand built car company in France that was in major hot water with Porsche and we thought a few years back that this was a sign of things to come over on this side of the water. They have taken the classic look of the 356 and modernized it. The car is not fibreglass but some kind of polymer. The company regularly shows at the Paris auto show. The company is publicly traded and makes one of the most beautiful cars out there.

The car runs on a Peugeot 2L engine with 138HP and can go to 180HP.

If you go to Monaco you could rent one at , http://www.roadsterz.com/pgogalerie.htm

Cost 38.000

PGO seems to have done a good job. Unlike a precise replica, this car would seem to be in the same group with cars such as the retro Thunderbird or perhaps the 2005 retro Mustang that Ford produced. It takes the 356-theme and carries it forward with modern mechanicals and sculptured body design. I think this is important part of the automotive industry
