Great, thanks Bruce!
I'll be dragging the car across the street to the body shoppe now that my tank is in... way cool. Some of my other mods are not working out so well due to retro-fit limitations, and the differences between planning ahead and basic differences betyween pan-based cars and tube-framed cars... It's been a disapointing day.

Me thinks it's time for the nog... buckets and buckets of nog. The Medicine Man has left (his mind) the building.
Merry Ho-Ho to all,
and to all a good fright!
Barry, I shop the classifieds on the Samba and one of my screen names is Paulsmoney(@aol.com)Could be I was looking for new stuff, you sellin'any of your old stuff?

Bruce, I should get over to the shop sometime today. Some year-end homebuyers expect me to be working during the dog days of December, imagine that!?

My new tank is just the over-sized VW option. It sits a little prouder than the 8 gallon tank commonly installed. Once in place, it looks pretty stock by our replicar standards... The 356 tanks were big ol' recantangular boxes (the part that showed) with a large center located fill cap (good to catch drips). Original tanks sat back close to the 'firewall'

This tank sits out about the same distance as before, dropped into the same hole, about 14 gallons, we bent the float and guesstimate when I'm running on empty I'll have about two to three gallons remaining in the tank.

I'll select a fine grain sliver of French oak and whittle it to perfection so as to resemble the carry-sticks of yor' and mark it up to figure my actual emptiness...

Suspiciously yours,

John Steele at JPS, check the maker's list under
JPS Motorsports.
I had him powdercoat it silver and I will place some faux hold-down straps under the bonnet and it will be to my satisfaction... and about 1/8 the cost of the retro FuelSafe unit I saw on eBay...I know mine is not for real racing circumstances like a FuelSafe, etc. so we don't need to go there.
