So this was the day of deja vu. I ran into my old bug that donated its chassis to become my speedster. See pictures below of the progression. The first picture is from 1990, the second of the same car at today's show(This is just how it looked the day I relieved it of its chassis 2 years ago), and the speedster today at the same same show who is riding on that bug's original chassis! Very Strange. Oh yeah, I also ran into my jr. high shop teacher from Fresno whom I had not seen it 30 years!

and Jennifer & Darrin

Wow, what a cool show! It was my first time and it was AWESOME! Its hard to imagine the amount of money people spend on there cars. I saw a Beautiful Bus with the matching trailer for sale, price was $99,500. I am now oficailly looking for a Westy, something for a really good deal, hopefully something sitting in Grandmas garage for years, not looking for an old one, maybe 80's. I hope to have the money for one by the end of the year. Doing the research is half the fun! Let me know if anyone runs across something.

Good to see the "crew" again, Darrin's apologies for not seeing everyone, he made over $300 selling VW plastic parts!
What a day, this has to be a record setting for attendance, I overheared some people in line at 9am the show was full.

The day started of with a light drizzle with the sun popping thru about 10ish, stayed in the high 70 for the rest of the day, great weather.
It was reeeeaaly kewl to hook up with the SOCers and also alot of OG airheads that I haven't seen in many years, the quality of alot of the builds are incredible, beauutiful and inspiring .

It was great to have lunch with everybody, I was able to do some shopping at the swap area and I find some kewl parts/items.

In Jims picture #2735 our Westy testosterones were off the charts,he was very excited to be around all those hot Pink and Lavender VW's

..forgot to mention that Bruce Meyers and his wife had their buggy booth set-up at the VW Classic. I stopped and talked with Bruce telling him that I was at the SOC dinner in Carlisle where he was guest of honor/speaker. He said he's not a very good speaker but that he and his wife enjoyed themselves with SOC.

Alan, here's the front view of that rat-rod...
