Does anyone have a shot at the rear seat? I need to have one made, and have no idea what it should look like.

Ah the Madness! First you have to do corrective surgery to get it to look right. Part is $895 from Rusty Tubs. What year IM is it for?

Check this link out: a coupe rear seat mold was used and cut to suit.
Wow, I thought it was just a cushion.
I was wondering if he envisioned a rear (real) seat like the folding ones in 356 Coupes or later 912/911. There really isn't enough leg room to call it much more than a parcel shelf in a Speedster.
I'd say: stick w/ the "parcel shelf", otherwise just using up some of that precious space better used for cargo. The IM rolled/pleated shelf looks nice. I would not do more.
It is just a cushion. Measure the width of the front of the rear parcel shelf and cut some cardboard or even heavy paper to size. Press that into the area that you want the cushion to cover to form a template and cut out the template. Trim as necessary until you get that to fit exactly as you want. Transfer that to heavy cardboard, if you did it on paper, and cut out a cardboard template. Make sure it fits how you want it to.
Transfer that to some lauan plywood, http://www.lowes.com/pd_6177-9..._?productId=3604746, or masonite, http://www.lowes.com/pd_15486-...p;Ntt=masonite+board.
After you fit that add whatever thickness of foam you want. Find the appropriate upholstery material, which you might be able to get from whoever built your Speedster, have the material stitched to the foam, and mate the two together.
This should be an easy project if you want to do it yourself. Other wise just take it to an upholstery shop and they'll know what to do.
With the top up, I can easily carry what I need for a weekend back there.
I would never let anyone ride back there.
The cushion would just take up valuable space.

I did think about doing something like the 356 seats. I have some old ones
kicking around. The only problem is that they take up a lot of room. I'm thinking
about measuring and making something flat, with just a little foam. I wanted to
use a pattern that is simple and resembles the factory. Can I find that in the
build manual?

I just saw the pictures, and that is just what I need. It's great working on the car
again. All the mechanics are done, it runs like a bear.
Whoever owns those 2 cars, did an incredible job!
I think Vintage sells them already made as well.
Thanks for all the great help.
I'm hoping for a springtime run.
Merry Christmas
