Pictures shrink when posted

I'm confused.
I'm a donating member, so I should be able to upload a picture up to 2.5MB.
I just uploaded a picture that was 1.24MB, and it shrunk to 17.2kb.
My crisp picture became very grainy.
This happens every time I upload a picture.
HELP!!!!

Lester, the only time I've had that trouble is when I'm trying to upload from a Mac.
I took this one with my phone a couple days ago, and even it loaded okay. I e-mailed it to myself from the phone, and loaded it directly from the hard drive. It could be that the photo viewer you're looking at reduced the image to a size where it looked smooth to the eye, but maybe didn't have the data density to support it here.

Hmmm... I have a Mac, and I haven't had that problem (since I remembered to pay my dues).

I don't know, Cory.....the car on the left looks fine, but that one on the right looks a little fuzzy.......

Lester - I wondered about that also, my crisp pictures (1.5MB) looking grainy when added to my photo file. They look less grainy when I reduce them to 400KB?

I have an idea. If you're PC-based, e-mail the photo to yourself using Outlook. Outlook will give you the option to reduce the file size in the e-mail. Take the option.
Open the e-mail attachment, save it to a folder on your desktop, and upload it as-is from there. It should keep the size and only reduce the DPI for printing purposes -- the image ought to upload clearly.
