I took my Speedster for it's first drive tonight. Still isn't running very good and the brakes need some work but it was still a blast!

If you notice in the interior picture I had to mount my E brake sideways in front of the driver's seat. I couldn't figure out how to cram it in the tunnel of the Metalcraft chassis.

Ron: Nice meeting you at Carlisle last May, and I know you were trying to bring your "JLO" Speedster then, but lots of things always seem to get in the way, don't they?

Let's see.....Running rough and poor brakes - sounds just like "Pearl" when I first got her on the road....It's all "Permagrin" from now on!!

Looking forward to seeing you both at next year's Carlisle get-together. We're expecting to be doing a LOT more driving, after the success of this year's evening dinner cruises!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I was afraid I wouldn't get to drive it before the snow flew. Technically I didn't. Had about 3" of the white stuff on 10/12. Even with the problems the "Permagrin" was there.

I hope to have it at Carlile this year and probably the Glenn.

Gordon, I saw you at the Glenn but you were in line waiting to go on the track and then couldn't find you after that.

Here is the link for the wheels. Delivered with tires $800 back in December. Difficult finding wheels with an offset that didn't require thick spacers. Rears didn't need any.

Thanks Cory and Alan.

Alan, I hope your recovery is going well!

Cory, I purchased a Lokar hot rod set up. The handle just mounts in a slot I cut in the floor. The cables have their own housings or cable covers. They also have a mounting block for the end closest to the handle. They just run across the bottom of the chassis held there by clamps that I installed. The great thing about them was that the caliper end was a perfect fit. I have a disc brake set up from cip1. The housing end fit perfect in the caliper hole and the retaining nut held it in place. Even the end on the cable was a perfect fit for the actuation lever. I got lucky!
