PEOPLE OF EARTH!! and you SoCal SOC knuckleheads!

There is a LOT of freeway construction at the Seal Beach Blvd exit for our rendezvous at CVS. This makes getting back onto and merging with the northbound 405 traffic VERY dicey!

I will scout another location for safer off/on fwy access on the 405 somewhere in that vicinity and post by mid-week.

Jim, I checked the CalTrans site and it appears that project/intersection is due for updated information starting yesterday. Info so far impacts 22 on/off 405 only. I will drive it tomorrow and let you know.

Hi Jim,
This is due to the 7th Street Closure.. has been this way for a couple months and won't be completed until at least til April 2012.. trust me .. we have to take the SB Blvd now to shop in a.m. (School Bus) no treat..!
I suggest something ie: past that exit and stick on #405 North.. plenty of spots off that direction or stick on #91 and meet up out pass the traffic..
Heh.. I'm just saying.. !

I'm thinking maybe the Palos Verde Ave exit off the 405 (just past the 605 junction). There's a Del Taco just south of the fwy with a big parking lot. I'll check it out and post details tomorrow.

FYI for the original stop...
I just drove it today in my 3door VW PU and if there are no changes in the next week it should be doable. North bound off at Seal Beach Blvd was open. North bound on ramp to 405 only required getting over 2 lanes before the 605 North split. Traffic was the usual for any time of day....jammed.

We are sticking with the usual rendezvous at CVS, Seal Beach Blvd!

I drove by other possible rendezvous exits on the 405 (Palos Verde, Bellflower. Lakewood) and they would not be any better for our group (typically 10 cars). No convenient locations, difficult on-off and on-ramp meters would be very problematic.

I drive by the Seal Beach Blvd exit several times a week on my way to LA (typically between 07:30-08:00) and encourage you to allow time for dealing with north bound 405 traffic that is stop-n-go beginning in Huntington Beach (area of Westminster exit).

We will alter our exit strategy from the CVS lot and utilize the traffic signal on the north end of the parking lot (instead of our usual exit). That traffic signal cycle is longer and it will be easier to keep our group together as we head toward the 405 on-ramp.

When: FRIDAY, June 3rd
Where: CVS, 12490 Seal Beach Blvd, Seal Beach (1/2 mile north of 405 fwy)
Rendezvous Time: 08:00-08:15
Leave Parking lot: 08:30

Jennifer, I believe the meeting time in Topanga, is no later than 10:00....so we can get on the road but that may vary depending on everyones arrival
