Just returned from the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. The 912 performed flawlessly despite the 105 degree heat on Friday and Saturday. Oil temperature creeped up a little going up the mountains on the Pa. Turnpike. Not bad for a 43 year old car. We were delighted to be asked, by the Allegheny Region of the PCA, to join fifty other heritage Porsches to join a Parade lap around the course. Jim and Vicky were also there with their Speedster. My 1954 Speedster that I sold in 1966 for $600.00 and now worth over $185,000, was there also, visited with the owner for a while. Gave him some pictures of me when I was 16 with the car back then. Many rare Porsches there including a 904 replica. I was delighted when a 850 TC Fiat Abarth (similar to one I owned many years ago) won the small bore race.
All in all a great weekend event despite the opressive heat.
