Anyone planning on going? I just signed up for the "countryside tour" & lunch on July 18.

I've gone to the Saturday car show the past 2 years. It's a great event in a beautiful setting. I believe it is the only vintage car race in the country un on city streets. When I went in 2011 when Porsche was the margue I was thrown out of the Porsche parking area by club personnel and made to park by the swamp in the replica area. But I did get a laugh when the event pictures were posted and what car was pictured in the first 5 photos? My Stone gray IM! In 2012 the PVGP let me park in the Porsch row and I spent the day having to tell folks it was a replica. It is a great event but it is usually in the 90s and humid in July in Pittsburgh. I'll probably go this year to the Saturday show.
Maybe we'll see you there. Any particularly right hotels I should be looking at?
This would be like my third year running where I get all geeked out about this event, then when push meets shove in the summer I can't find a good way to make it. So I'm gonna say it again: I wanna go to this and will figure out a way. And, as I have said before, I went to school where this race is run, and have run my own lap times on the very course they have -- but that was back in the late '60s, in my old '56 A coupe. And I was not really racing -- just scaring the piss out of sweet young thing in the right seat. Ah, those were the days . . .
I still know one or two folks who live in the area, and my plan will be to make contact there and see if I can find a place to stay. This has become a pretty BIG show, so if you need to rent a room, better see to it early.

I got a B&B for Weds-Thurs. Looks like we're going to just pop in and do the cruise, maybe see Falling Water on Friday & head home. But if you want to meet up I could maybe alter our plans.
Fallingwater is definitely worth seeing! A Frank Lloyd Wright house hanging over a waterfall.
I've been there in the different seasons, all beautiful......but not since the restoration was completed.
I grew up in Pittsburgh.
I have been to FW a few times, and last after the renovations. It is a very cool thing to do. If the mountain laurel are out in the spring, it will be other-wordly.
Been reading your notes here about FW and it got me thinking that it might be a cool thing to do as part of my return trip from Carlisle. What's lodging like near that area? Thanks, Rich
Yeah, been wanting to make that trip for years. It's a five hour haul from my house, so needed a reason to overnight it. Hope mid July is good enough weather. Thinking spring would be best though.
I have been attending for close to 20 years, great venue. Make hotel reservations soon, they go fast .
We're in a B&B.
