PEOPLE OF EARTH (translates to SoCal SOC members)!!

The cruise/meet for the Planes of Fame Museum is on track for this Saturday, Cinqo de Mayo. See 'Cruise to Planes of Fame' post dated 4/10/07 for rendevous details. In consideration of the scheduled events at the museum, please know that we will be leaving the designated rendevous points on the times indicated.

Since the museum functions solely on fund raisers and admission fees I did not feel it appropriate to press for free admission for our group, however we will be admitted on a group rate admission of $10/ea. A deal at twice the price!

A 'Special Event' is scheduled for the first Saturday of each month. While our cars will be an added attraction for this Saturday, the marquee will be the Republic P-47G Thunderbolt with displays and guest speakers. There will also be a flight demonstration of the P-47G in the afternoon.

PLease feel free to stay at this event as long as your schedule allows. My cell is (949) 294-6302.

Weather forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with temps in mid 70's.

SEE YOU SPEEDSTER/AEROPLANE FANATICS THIS SATURDAY!!

THERE IS A CHANGE IN VENUE FOR PLANES OF FAME!!

The morning rendevous for the Carbon Canyon/Planes of Fame Cruise HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS.

THE NEW RENDEVOUS LOCATION has been changed from Brea Fire Station #3 (Lambert/Kraemer) to Fullerton Fire Station #5.

Fullerton Fire Station #5 is located AT 2555 E. Yorba Linda Blvd, Fullerton 92831. This is 1 mile north of the 91-FWY. Exit Yorba Linda Blvd. Head west 1/2 mile (towards CSU Fullerton), Fire Station is on North side of street (across from Fullerton University).

Thanks to Darren Sylvester (Signature65) for arranging photo ops with the Fire rigs before we head out to Chino Airport (a great cruise start for the kids in attendance). Please arrive before 08:00 for photos. We will still be leaving for Planes of Fame no later than 08:30am.

If you are unable to make this rendevous, please reference the link below for directions to Planes of Fame museum.

My neighbor will be flying a P-51D Mustang in from Woodland Hills (event fly-over) and should be landing at the Museum around 10:15-10:30. He'll taxi over to where our cars will be located and we can take group car/driver shots before rolling it into the hangar.

He'll also take us on a behind the scenes tour through the plane/engine restoration area - that will be pretty cool!

Even if you're not a WWII plane fanatic, or don't know JACK about planes (like me) this will be a very entertaining day!
Desi,

Unfortuanltely I won't be there. I'm headed to my buddy's shop in Orange to fab up some 3/4 doors for my truck.
