Wandering around in Facebook last night (thanks, Rich) and I stumbled upon a thread of comments from 356 replica owners...many in German...some RHD photos (Australian?) and wasn't paying much attention until a photo popped up with a bunch of replica coupes in various stages of construction. WOW!

Tried to navigate backwards through Facebook, but lost the thread!

Does anyone know what I stumbled upon?...Who's producing those coupe shells?

Thanks Chris,

This 'thread' of comments and photos I stumbled upon wasn't North American generated.

It had to be either European or 'down under' Australian since several of the posts were in German; several had the quaint 'Gidday' as an introduction greeting; and some of the authors had Spanish spelling surnames....so somewhere overseas someone is knocking out 356A replica coupe bodies...

Bodies that are light weight, and therefore inexpensively freighted to nearest port of entry!... And just begging to be winter weather replacements for winter hibernated speedsters!!!

Bart,

There is a guy named Posie (Posie's Rods and Customs) who was making very nice polished aluminum faux framework for the rear side windows.  His shop number is 717-566-3340. I bought a set and was very impressed with quality and fit, as well as very reasonable pricing.  Don't know if he is still doing them, but they enhanced the appearance of my coupe, since I was going for the traditional look.

Thanks Tom...I have done some clicking to find some that were reasonably priced....I have found their web site now...do they just slide on and fit with little adjustment ?

SAS builds a coupe, Beck is developing a coupe, and I believe Vintage has plans to make a pre-A coupe.  Do a search on here for coupe and you'll get a wealth of information.

I have also seen some coupe bodies pop up in Europe.. not sure who is making them.

That came on my car (JPS).  I believe John is putting the trim on all of his coupes now that are not going for a GT look.
