The P&CPS gathers on the first Saturday of each month at a warehouse in Ypsilanti Michigan where cars are stored. People storing cars agree that they can be uncovered for this event. People also bring other cars. The owner of the place has a 3356 among other cars. Each month they have a speaker. This month it was the executive editor of Car & Driver. David E. Davis had an office there.

Thanks Michael !! looks like a cool place to hang out. Great bunch of cars under all those covers. I might have just enough room left for a nice little red Izetta.
Cool. No doubt it was also attended by the ghost of L.J.K. Setright.
I am very familiar with points and condensers, having fussed with several over the yers, Cant say as I am fan. There is better technology nowadays. raise you hand who among you that has taken a file to a pitted point contact in order to get the f****ing thing to work. I rest my case.
Cool pix, love the Morgan -- and the TR3 . . .
Ah, but cars with points and condensers (and carbs and mechanical fuel pumps) will still work after an EMP. There's something to be said for that - at least as long as you can get gas.
What turns me off about points and condensers these days is their quality--especially the condenser. It seems that today's condensers fail early and often. At least that's my understanding based on feedback from the MGB forum.
What's more, depending on the vehicle, the points gap can be difficult to set accurately without removing the distributor, which may result in unintentional consequences.

I installed 123 electronic distributor in the 105 Alfa. It ran rough at first, but there are 16 curves. I think we found the correct one. That said, I may go on longer tours with the original Bosch Euro points distributor for a back-up. Hopefully never will need it.

It was my impression that a 123 is infinitely controllable, with a spark map program like MegaJolt or a CB Black Box. I know they are supplied with preloaded programs, but I think you can write your own.
Love the green 53 Buick with the revolutionary tear-drop headlight frames and 25 grill bars. First year for the nail head V-8 too. Grill bar count will get to 50 before the end of the decade. The Hudson is pretty cool too. There sure has been a lot of car manufacturers go away in my life span !...........Bruce
@aircooled, I put the Buick in for you.
Very cool, Michael. Thank you

I did not get the Bluetooth one
True story. I was on 95 N driving home from med school in my 1982 Honda Civic on a sunny day. All of a sudden the engine dies. Plenty of gas. First thing I did was take off the distributor cap. Contact point on the distributor rotor had broken off. Cop stop by in a few minutes. He asked me if I needed a tow truck. I only had a few bucks. I held up the rotor and said I really just need one of these. He said hop in. That cop actually drove me to an auto parts store and then back to my car. He dropped me off at my car and said he’d swing by in 30 minutes and make sure it did the trick. I thanked him and said don’t worry I’ll be gone. What a nice thing to do.
Methinks said cop was in fact a serious gearhead, and truly felt your pain. Cool story.
Lots of nice cars, especially the yellow TR3a.
Is the PCPS similar to the Positive Earth Society?
I used to be a member of that, but I'm not sure.
