I go out and buff up the aluminum on the Spyder, just to watch it return to it's former state within a week to ten days........Has science come up with something you can use to delay this oxidizing for some extended period of time, without creating a huge mess or costing an arm and leg......It's just that i would like to get ready for Carlisle, sit back and relax......Yeah, right....;-)

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.....

Thanks, To Scott and Angela,

I knew the correct way to spell Carnauba however, the invisible link between my brain and fingers failed as I was typing.

"Shiny" now that's a word that I've probably never used and more than likely will never use again but, I now know its correct spelling.

As my punishment, I'll type the following sentence 100 times.

"Carnauba" wax and hot body wax are totally different products however, both achieve the same results. Applied and removed per their enclosed instructions, both will leave a smooth and "shiny" body
Larry-not to introduce any confusion here, but note that "hiney" DOES have an "e". But "shiny", as in "shiny hiney", drops the "e". I can't remember that rule, but it must be "e" after n except in an "s" word.
And thanks for the MISTER Zog note. All these years I thought Mr. Zog was DOCTOR Zog. Gotta pay way more attention to them details. Surf's up dude.
I have lots of polished aly in my engine bay, I must have invested at least 30 hours Yes thirty on preparation and polishing on my intake manifold alone and at least that much again on the alternator housing. (OK labor is cheap in Africa!) I have decided that the next time i pull the motor i am going to polish it all up one more time and then have it all chrome plated! At least then it will stay looking good without too much elbow grease.

I think Carey from Beck recommended Chrome Guard. I have quite a bit of Chrome including my deep-dish rims so I gave it a try. Just clean and dry the area spray the Chrome Guard on and let it dry. Wipe off with a microfiber cloth and slight buff if necessary. Leon, this may help you after you polish your aluminum. I tried it on a aluminum too with good results. It
