Pomona Kit Cars Saturday April 24th - anyone going?

This is the "old" Knott's Berry Farm Show, moved to a new location for the first time this year. Now located at the NHRA museum at the Pomona Fairplex. It is only a one day show this year, but the monthly Pomona Swap Meet is the following day at the same location.

For the San Diego contingent, this is now a two plus hour drive on very busy freeways (Knott's was about 1 1/2 hours).

It's only about 20 minutes from where I live so, I may attend???

If I were in the area, I would definately attend. Love all kinds of cars, not just spyders and speedsters. Hopefully they'll have a little more room for vendors. Knott's was getting pretty cramped as the parking lot was shared with, well, with PARKING!

Hey Vince, I won't pretend to speak for Angela, but I was on a website for southern Oregon car shows the other night. Between Medford, Grants Pass, Ashland and a few more surrounding communities, they have just as many car shows - and terrific diversity - as does the greater LA area.

David, but they don't have us....

I'll be there with a Mendeola Chassis complete for anyone that is thinking of doing one. I may even bring a shortend chassis for show too....

I didn't see Kevin but I hooked up with Michael "Sludge" Beaucage and also met Craig356. Decent show with a 904 by TR, only a couple of Speedsters, a Spyder a Lister, GT40's and of course, Cobra's

Pomona, the "Annual Cobra on Asphalt Show" only six speedsters.

Larry gave me a tour of the museum which was free for the day.

Great hamburgers - seemed notable to me, had to walk over to the hotel to get a five dollar beer.

Does Kevin's chassis fit under a Speedster?

It can be made the right length for a speedster. I know EXACTLY what you are thinking... Also check for just the front suspension as that was (if I recall correctly) available seperately.

THIS is why it's cool to go to both Morro and the "other" event. The vendors like Mendeola, Lizard Skin, assorted engine builders, paint manufacturs, wheel makers, etc., show up at the Pomona/Knotts type events. If you are looking to build a car, you can make contacts, pick up new ideas, view new products. Then you go to Morro and hang out with the cool people.

Really a good reason to have these events on different weekends.

No one mentioned the suicide doors on the black speedster. I got used to the tush first entry method with one of my Brit cars and will likely include them on a new build - only one hinge on this one.

It also had nice scoops, and I thought I'd post the wheel shot since a lot of folks are interested in different wheel styles.

Jay's VS also was turbo charged.

I went Sunday to the swap meet.. saw some sweet tubs and both were sitting with p-cars while capturing MOST of the attention and of course a ton of VW's most of which were selling for a very reasonable price.. Even saw an old Bugatti that was trailer-ed for the show..

Micheal, The ivory turbo speedster belongs to me, Craig Abraham not Jay. Anyway, it was an excellent day out there. Lots of nice cars to look at.

Our chassis was re-designed or re-sized to fit under any type one based kit cars. The chassis we had at the show will be going under a super trick 57' oval ragtop bug that we will have at the Classic this year.
