@arajani

No offense taken. I have a very long history with the central valley. I say $hithole tongue and cheek, well maybe not but I have certainly earned my spot at hurling insults at it and I do so every chance that I get!

Also, I'm not trying to sound uppity in any way. I have a very modest home in Dana Point. In fact the area that I live in I refer lovingly to as the armpit of Dana Point and it is! I work hard and receive a very modest income. The rest of my income is from the criminal enterprises that I run in that $hithole central valley! That is how I afford such a luxury car like an Intermeccanica. Did I spell that right?

Will, I feel for you because I've been there.

When I was making my engine decisions I thought I was making the right choices.  The smart choices.

Boy, was I wrong.

You had your reasons for picking that particular engine builder and at the time I'm sure you felt like you were making the right choice.  I thought I was doing the right thing when I picked my engine builder and ordered CB's fuel injection kit, instead of a set of  Weber carbs.

I hope everything goes well for you on this rebuild and you have many miles of problem free driving.

What the H does this 'central valley' have to do with Will's engine?

I'm asking - obviously - because I have no idea what or where 'central valley' is, and how it relates to getting a good engine built.

My mission was to just get everyone off topic and to stop throwing rocks at Will and I used that $hithole of a place called the central valley to get it done.

Yep Anand, that was bait to get some response from us $hithole Valley people.

I should mention that some of my closest friends live in the central valley and I still take my vacations there. For you folks wanting to experience California there are some wonderful tourist destinations. Check out Arvin, Lamont, Delano, Wasco to name a few and of course you have all heard the late night tv hosts remark on Bakersfield.

Seriously, I may kid around a little about Bakersfield but it is where quite a few of my family members were buried - prematurely.

Why all the sad faces?

You dared valiantly while riding on the ragged edge of sanity!  I'm not sure all this whining about cost?  We're talking about fake Porsches, not the ones that cost you 400 GRR right?  My oil change cost me $20, I think.  What's that compared to the $1000 oil change at the Porsche dealership?   Not to put too fine a point on this cautionary tale, but others who read this Greek drama, take a lesson from this Speedster pilot's experience.... The moral of the story...........Go "Stock build" and put the savings into those pills that give you 4-hour *rections.  Kick the dog in ....5....4....3....2....1...

When I was a kid if we were at the dinner table having an argument like this, this would be the time my dad would slam his fist on the table and using his loudest, deepest, career military voice would have yelled, "I SAID ENOUGH!!" Then all six of us kids would shut our mouths, finish our meals, and slip away to not be heard from again that night.

I'm just sorry I said anything on this forum.

This just may be the last time.

Don't let it be. I've enjoyed your posts and so have others.

I didn't want to get involved with this problem but I'm going to anyway.

Frankly, I'm a little embarrassed by the way Will is being treated. Will's original engine crapped out on him due to poor craftsmanship, in fact his engine was built with a cracked/repaired case, and yet people defend Kirk and got mad at Will for being frustrated. He got some money back and set out to research an engine build. He called around and got some great information. He made a decision to go with a different builder and that's on him. If Pat wants to be mad at Will for wasting his time that is between Will and Pat. And if Pat's friends want to be mad at Will for wasting his time so be it. But I don't think any of that justifies any of us piling on the crap to Will. His engine has suffered a problem that may or may not be related to the quality of parts that he used to build it. If it was because he used an inferior product his lesson will be learned, albeit the hard way, but it's his lesson to learn. What manufacturer of car parts hasn't had product returned at one time or another due to quality control issues? I'm not going to say, "I told you so!" or "See, what were you told?", etc etc, because it doesn't serve a valid purpose. Don't get me wrong, I've told a friend or two, "What'd I tell you?" but I did it in person while helping him fix the problem and helping him do it right.

Hopefully I haven't just alienated myself from my Central Valley peeps but if I did I'll be driving alone, but I'll still be driving.

I am a little late to this discussion ...

There is unfortunately quite an education that is sometimes required to be given by anyone selling a product or service before you can get buy in by the potential purchaser.

I will be the first one to realize that all of our time is worth something but I feel that as long as the time spent to inform a client is reasonable then that is the cost of doing business for the vendor.  Selling is after all an offer to purchase.

Also, that does not mean that there are not those who will abuse your goodwill and will (no pun intended) go for the lowest cost even after you have tried to give them an education on why your product or service is better.

Let's face it, the second time around is usually the teacher for most of us and these buyers as well.

Our challenge, if you are the service provider is to keep from letting the situations frustrate you.  People being people business is a challenge and Adding to the challenge is that the time you spent selling your service must be kept reasonable to bring you a client.

Being in Sales is a hard thing but there are no guarantees that someone will buy when you present your salad dressing.

P.S If your the buyer at least have some integrity and don't suck the life off someone if you have reached a decision and your not going to buy from him.

So-- what is up with the Bears?

They gave away the farm to draft Mitchell Trubisky, a guy with exactly 13 D1 starts. This after giving Mike Glennon tens of millions for being a so so NFL QB. So now we've got 2 unproven QBs and still have no defense. 3-13 in '16, I'm looking for more of the same in '17.

So much for Ryan Pace, boy genius.

Rusty, You forgot to mention Famoso drag strip in Bakersfield. One of the most famous drag strips in the United States. Pretty much where drag racing was born. We have the Sequoia National park 40 minutes from CB Performance. Wine country an hour away in Paso Robles, 2-/12 hours away in Napa. You can drive 5 minutes down the road and purchase any type of citrus you want freshly picked off the tree, plums, peaches, nectarines, countless varieties of grapes, pistachios, almonds, olives, etc.

If it is this Jim Ansite then Will's motor ought to be in pretty good hands. Prepare to take a second out on the house Will!
