OK, I've asked on most of the Porsche boards, but it's like begging for table scraps. Either they all know and won't share or they have someone else do the work and won't admit.

Does anyone know the orientation of the trailing arm seals on the 356 SC? The have an insert with a red urethane washer on one side and a tapered rubber lip on the opposite,

Do they go on with the washer facing inwards riding on the lip of the beam, or facing outwards towards the trailing arm and riding against the flange on the arm?

If you've ever seen one, you know what I mean,

Any help? PLEASE!

Thanks !

Just dialed a few times and no answer. If you ever get a chance to speak with him, PLEASE ask him for me, would you?

Flat side faces in or out?

Tapered side with little molded in lip faces in or out?

Thanks !

Why is this so hard to find info on? Doesn't ANYONE replace grease seals anymore? I posted a tech message sent to the Pelican Tech Line and got an answer that they no longer gave a 356 tech guy on call. They don't even sell the seals . . .
