Dear Jim, aka dubudee40 ebay.com
Perhaps I need to bring you up to date with Ebay's policy concerning "transaction interference". That is a clear violation with Ebay's policy. In addition, I want a written apology from you calling me an "asshole" and "scumbag".
In the future, please mind your own business.
Joe Jerk
Dear Joe Jerk, (not really:-)
I am sorry I called you an asshole and scumbag. You didn't mention "ballbag", but I offer an apology for that also, unless the term is not offensive to you. I should watch my language when dealing with persons such as yourself.
You asked why I have taken this on. There are several reasons, all having to do with being a consumer and having a thing about scammers. If you were selling Rolexes in Manhattan, it wouldn't bother me, as I wouldn't know the difference and I have no personal interest in those watches. But you are selling a car that I own a near twin of, and you are misrepresenting it, intentionally, or unintentionally......... I am not a crusader by nature and actually I don't care how you make your coin, honestly or under questionable methods. But I am on a crusade about this car and your deliberate use of wording, both last month and now. Calling that car a 1959 Carerra without a caveat last month wasn't even a slight attempt to sell the car for what it is... and now you still retain the "on a 356 Pan and Resto'd line. By the way, the Replica is of a 1957 1600 if you care about the truth. So, call me a crusader if you want... I will continue to pursue this through E-Bay until I am told to do otherwise. That's what we crusaders do... fall smack on our swords.... sometimes. Then sometimes we win.
I have filed a complaint with E-Bay and believe you should pull that whole load of fecal matter of the male bovine creature about it being based on a 356 Pan, et al. You know you are scamming here. Your 1st ad stated it to be a genuine 59 Carerra. After that misrepresentation and now the "insert of repro" you continue with the implication that the car may be a 356 pan based resto. Just tell the truth and you know what the truth is: A quick call verifies that Lotus of Phoenix sold you that car for what it is.... not as you have misrepresented it to be. It is built by Vintage Speedsters of Hawaiian Gardens, it is built on a VW Pan, with a VW Type-1 engfine with dual Kadron Carbs. The only Porsche parts are the badges. Look through the ads, no one else misrepresents their Replica as you have done twice now. Oh, and your reserve is probably high if it's more than $1,000 more than current.
As far as potential bidders doing homework..... I'm a study aide. Report me to e-bay and get a mediator, it only costs $20 between us to settle this dispute. And yes I have read the policies of e-bay including Fraud, misrepresentation, etc. I have all previous letters filed that were exchanged last month when you were told the origin of your car & gave a pollyannish response of "gee, I didn't know that"! This coming from someone who claimed to own many exotic originals, So you were made aware of the truth.
I have a Vintage Speedster and I love the car. I belong to a group of Replica 0wners who have expressed the same sentiments as I have over your ads. Again, just tell the truth. As far as titles. Ask Texas if that is a VW VIN. Last month you were coy, now it's righteous indignation.... be consistent when being a player....
You know, all this would have never happened if you were off somewhere on E-Bay pawning off a 68 Vette small block car with a crate 427 as an original L-88 car, or a refurbed Tempest as a GTO. You just happened to step into an area and a car (replica) that I care about. Too bad, eh?
Aloha
Jim
