Don't look now, but..... it's back!
Just to be a pain in the rear end I sent this Hot Dog an email late last week asking him to explain his ad. Basically, I asked him to clarify all the details. Then I told him I thought his add was misleading. I closed the email with a complainment :0)
He never wrote me back.
hummmmmmmm....

This auction was supposed to end today...and it did, but not by someone successfully bidding for the car. He had only 3 bids, the topper being about $18k (which he should have taken IMO).
The message on Ebay was: "The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing." Oh, really?
He'll be back. But, with all the "feedback" he got from our group, I'm betting his next offer will be more factual. Or, maybe not....

No....this guy thinks that someone just happened on to his B.S. And he probably thinks by next week he can start over and nobody will notice.....But, I think one of us will catch him again....or he is trying his line on some other car sales site hoping nobody catches him there

After having my pseudo mail box signed up for animal, teen, and other sex sites by these bums a month ago I was determined to hook in my talons and ride them for all it was worth. I promise you that they will not use the same e-bay names next sell. Now you know WHY I called them the names I did... my hackles were up.
There are three of them, Let's just call them grifters. I found this through a call or two on their trail.
Despite their warnings of lawyers and such not, I wrote the 3 bidders and 'splained to them that the seller was having a failure to communicate. I gave them what I could on the car, and steered them towards more honest appearing ads and the resources/networking offered by our group. There was not another bid on that car in the following 7 days. The lawyer threats ended the moment I mentioned a sales person's name at Lotus of Scottsdale.... hmmmmmm.
I finally hooked up with someone at E-Bay besides a volley e-mail circuit for complaints. I 'fessed my interference in the sale with the rationale that I was destorying the sales in order to save e-bay and the buyer's remorse. They blew off my petty infractions and are now focusing on the 3 carpetbagging grifters.
Not that I am like a consumer protection official, but there was a second ad that popped in yesterday or maybe the day before. Said they had a real 57 Speedster NOT A REPLICA, with 100 miles, no picture. Sent that one a note saying I was prepared to bid, could he give me the car number, and particulars as I would make a big bid to open. Also asked for pictures and said I would fly out to visual the car as it sounded TOO good to be true and I wanted it. Two days laters I got this: (Jim)
(to me:) "Sorry for the confusion. The add on Ebay has been modified. Please see the
photos and car detail online.
Thank you,
Eric"
