TC: Thanks for the suggestion about the 914 site. I tried to put a WTB on their classified section, but was rejected because I wasn't registered. When I tried to register, a required field was the VIN of my 914, which, of course, I don't have. Am I doing something wrong? And Chris, thanks for the suggestion about the JC Whitney site. They didn't have the parts, but I did order a "wolf whistle" horn and a set of fox tails for my twin radio antennas.

The black plastic knob screws onto a threaded piece. Why not get a kitchen cabinet door knob (say brushed alloy) from HD and thread it to use. The plastic ones do crack and the threads strip. The new knob would be custom and more durable. Wide selection to choose from - alloy would be easier to tap though.
