So which is it, $500 or $550? It seems high for rims with some cosmetic (?) damage. I'd like a set but I don't want them that bad!
I can do a lot to my car for the $2,000 to $2,200 these would cost. I love em' but I don't have a problem running replicas on my replica. (That includes buying a new set of replica wheels.)
The great thing about our cars is that you can do whatever you want, there are no mistakes when it comes to the aesthetics.
Forged Fuchs alloys are light ( a 15x6 is over 4lbs lighter than a cast copy) and strong, and don't break up like cast wheels do when hit. They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. What Ron linked to are the earlier 901 part number wheels with the heart shape in the valve stem area, which is what you pay the premium for, and what Tom has. They're valued by the VW crowd as well as Porsche nuts, hence the big bucks. If you're patient you should be able to find some later Fuchs 15x6's (911 part #, still forged and very light) for $200 a wheel or less. If that's still too much, the cast copies look pretty good as well. All depends on what you want. Al

What exactly did you buy? 15x4.5? 15x5.5? 15x6? 15x7? 901 or 911 part #'s?
I haven't put a price on these yet. Just lookin for an honest offer I can live with.
ALB....They were (2) 15x7...and (2) 15x6.....and they were either 901 or 911 stamped. They were on my 914.....and It was a few years ago now.

A couple of years ago I saw a set of polished 16x6 Fuchs wheels on an Intermeccancia, and thought they looked very nice.
At the time 16 inch Fuchs were reasonably priced, but they're creeping up in price too.
At 17 pounds they're also pretty heavy.
Ron- I thought 17lbs was heavy for a Fuchs 16x6 as well, but figured the extra weight was needed for strength on the heavier car. Then Gordon weighed a bare 16x7 he had-

I'm gonna post them on the Samba for $1400 and see if I get any bites.
That's the one, Ron. Whoever supplied the weights of the 16" forged Fuchs was way off.
