Oops topic posted before I typed anything!

I know the Beck speedsters come with Beck/Chamonix badges installed.
My question is could I pretty easily install the "correct" speedster badges?
Mainly the front hood handle, letters on front, and rear letters.

Maybe this is heresy, but I see alot of replicas with correct lettering and I prefer it although if asked would never pass a replica off as an original.

TIA for any advice,

Hey Grey,

If we ever get together you will see mine has all the porsche carrera speedster emblems on it. They were there when I bought it, but many have left them as the Intermeccanica emblems for whatever reason.. I would not have cared either way personally. You can buy the appropriate emblems at numerous places and can get them in silver or gold. There was a recent post about where to get them if you do a search. If you go into the Registry section and sort by make you can see a lot of picks of different makes of car and see what they have, but most I have seen have the Porsche Speedster emblems.

So, are you looking at the becks out there at Exclusive?

James-

I plan on heading over there sometime today for a quick look.
Thanks for the VM with the info - really appreciate it.

I am pretty open to used/new or even build from a rolling chassis.
I am able (wife has approved) to travel with my single-good-time-buddy anywhere in the USA if I find a car that I could deem satisfactory to drive home.

Just want to make a good pick on which brand. From what I have read and seen in detailed pics the IM seems, to me, to be the best - but it comes at a price as most good things do. I plan on checking out your IM, James, and maybe the dealer in Hickory as well.
One thing I really like is the Scat engine with 911 style fan in the Thunder Ranch cars - that is very cool.

For me this toy will be replacing the vintage BMW motorcycle hobby that I have enjoyed for 10+ years.

To be honest, this real 356 is VERY appealing:

Yes, I looked at that 356 on Ebay this morning...but my lord that will be a lot of work. I can see that you are not afraid of it just based on the work you have done on those bikes, but all I hear of is horror stories about peeling away the layers of an onion with these 356's. I really want a real one myself, but when I looked I either couldn't afford what I really wanted or it was a pile of rust being held together by pure will to survive...

Anyway, my car is in at Touring Car getting an oil change and a couple of little niggly things fixed like an a/c charge etc. Once I get it back I would love to show you my car. The dealer up in Hickory has one a used speedster (42K) and a new roadster (62K!!!!!) for sale right now that I would love to see... maybe we can cruise up there.

My favourite part of the country this time of the year... actually any time of the year... I am the one person in the world that actually loves LA... of course my wife and I stay in Manhattan Beach or Santa Monica which is not downtown... but its still LA. One time we ended up hanging out with Yasmine Bleeth at Reds in Hollywood...I think my wife was there... hmmm, thats strange.... I can't remember if she was or not...lol.
